Mizuho Hasegawa is a 15yo skatergirl from Japan and has just won the X Games MVP award, after taking home Gold in Vert, Silver in Park and Bronze in Vert Best Trick at the X Games finals in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She is a skater with an incredible amount talent, poise, power, confidence and competition dominance that one can only marvel at!

X Games is using a city Team Format that is modeled after more traditional sports and it’s a competition between four cities; Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York and Sau Paulo. It includes all the traditional action sports and Mizuho has earned more points for Team Tokyo than any other athlete from all the different sports for their teams, making her the very first X Games League MVP (Most Valuable Player).

She is returning to California for a couple of weeks and will be getting ready to defend her two Rockstar Open titles in Portland OR next month, then off to Utah for Tony Hawks Vert Alert.

Bobby Schaub shot this portrait of her at her home skatepark Chichibus in Japan earlier this month, when we had a fun H-Street demo day there to celebrate her incredible achievements already for the year. We think the photo tells it all; if you stand in competition with this young ripper, you better bring all you got!

15yo old  phenom skater MIZUHO HASEGWA went to New Orleans for the X Games finals and scored another Gold Medal on the vert ramp!

This time, she fell on the first two runs and in a stunning comeback, nailed her third and last run perfectly!

X Games is having a couple of more events, so we excitedly await to see what shiny hardware she’ll be carting back to California! Stay tuned on kick.com and maybe YT for all the action.

In addition, Monster Energy announced her as the newest member of their elite team of athlete riders, so this has been an amazing weekend for this young ripper from Japan!

She got to hold up her Gold Medal and Gold foil special edition of her own designed “Hidden Cat” graphic.

After winning a Gold Medal and two Silvers, Mizuho had all her friends over to ChiChibu Skatepark, where she skates when she’s home. We had coordinated with skate Photog Bobby Schaub to be on hand for all the photos and we got some really good ones. Mizuho tweaked out a classic Japan Air about as good as anyone has ever done it.

We’ll post some more of this totally awesome fun day at ChiChibu and we’re so thankful that they greeted us to such a warm welcome! And of course, while we’re Mizuho’s sponsors, we are also her biggest fans and it was amazing to see where she has perfected much of her skateboarding!

She’s soon off to the last X Games stop in New Orleans later this month and then she’ll be spending some time in California once again.

Mizuho won Gold in the vert contest at X Games in Chiba, Japan. She got a Silver Medal at X Games in Sacramento here in California. Because T-Mag went to Sacto and not Japan, we have the footage from there. Mizuho busted out about the same barrage of heavy moves in Japan so this is a good representation of her Gold and Silver accomplishment.

T-Mag’s video is mostly from practice sessions but some are the actual contest and some from the Best Trick contest, where she also got a Silver Medal in both Sacramento and Japan.

The podium photo from Japan was shot by Bobby Schaub.

The City of Vista is putting together a history of skateboarding exhibit at City Hall that starts in July and runs for a few weeks. We are pleased and honored that they have included what is a huge part of Vista’s skate history with many of our OG skaters that hailed from here, like Matt Hensley, Danny Way, John Sonner, Steve Ortega and many of their friends that very much contributed to shaping street skating when it first emerged in the mid 80’s, right when Mike T and T-Mag started H-Street.

For many years, our team was so Vista heavy that most people thought we were located in Vista. Which in 2020, finally came true when we moved here.

They sent us a screengrab from Shackle Me Not and did a layout with Mike and T-Mag’s funny little sketch at the end, where One D-Way was introduced to the world of skateboarding.

The event runs from June 29-July 30th at the Vista Civic Center Gallery. There’s a reception July 10th 5-6:30p the public is welcome! More details to come.
