There is a lot of information circulating about the recent NFA ruling, and we know many of you are wondering what this actually means when you walk into Bass & Bucks to purchase a silencer.

**The short answer: we're waiting for official guidance before changing our process.**

The recent court ruling could bring significant changes to how silencers and other NFA items are purchased and transferred. However, there are still a lot of questions surrounding exactly who the ruling applies to, how dealers are supposed to implement it, and what happens next.

Until we receive clear guidance on how we are expected to proceed as an FFL, it's business as usual at Bass & Bucks.

👉 You can still purchase a silencer through the current Form 4 process.
👉 The former $200 federal transfer tax is currently $0 for silencers.
👉 If you've had your eye on a silencer, you're welcome to utilize our layaway program to lock in available inventory while we wait to see what comes next.
👉 If you already have a Form 4 pending, continue through the current process.

This ruling is a big development and we're excited to see where it leads. But we're also not going to speculate or change our procedures based on headlines or social media posts.

As soon as we receive confirmed guidance that changes how we can handle these transactions at Bass & Bucks, we'll let you know exactly what it means for you.

For now: same process, $0 federal transfer tax on silencers and business as usual.

We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

THE ORIGINS: Story Eleven
"Every new chapter has a beginning."

This wasn't where Bass & Bucks first began.
But it was where one of our biggest chapters started.
When we moved to our current property, this building was home to just about everything. It served as our storefront, housed our small archery department, and gave us the opportunity to dream about what Bass & Bucks could one day become.

The archery department may have started in a much smaller space than it occupies today, but every bow that was tuned, every customer who walked through the door, and every relationship that was built helped lay the foundation for the future.
As Bass & Bucks continued to grow, so did our need for more space.
Today, this original building has taken on a new purpose. It's now home to our online operations and warehousing, helping us serve customers across the country while supporting the continued growth of our business.
Looking back, it's incredible to see how far we've come.
Having room to grow has been a true blessing, but we know none of it would have been possible without you.
Your support, your trust, and your belief in our vision helped turn this building into the beginning of something much bigger.
And we're still building.

THE ORIGINS: Story Ten
"You can't build a destination by thinking small."
One of the questions we hear most often is, "Why is Bass & Bucks all the way out here?"
The answer is simple.
Bass & Bucks didn't start here.

We originally opened in town, but as we grew, so did our vision. We wanted to offer our community more than a retail store. We wanted to create a place where people could shoot, learn, practice and experience the outdoors together.
That vision needed room to grow.

Today, Bass & Bucks sits on 182 acres and is home to a 750-yard public range, indoor and outdoor archery ranges, multiple 3D courses, and outdoor experiences that simply wouldn't have been possible in the middle of town.

Getting here the first time might take a few extra minutes.
But once you arrive, you'll understand why Bass & Bucks is exactly where it belongs.

In 2009, an idea born at Bass & Bucks grew into something much bigger.
The Aculok was designed to make archery safer by securing bows to help prevent dry fires and unauthorized use, while also providing a solution for states where bow locks are required.
What began as an idea developed right here at Bass & Bucks grew into a product carried by more than 700 retailers in 13 countries before the company was sold in 2022.

That same commitment to innovation, problem-solving and serving the archery community continues to shape everything we do today.
With more than 15 of the industry's leading archery brands, experienced technicians, and a commitment to helping every customer find the right setup, Bass & Bucks has become more than a local pro shop.
