So I figured out the problem with the buoys getting water logged, I put a couple more layer in to the float part and that seems to stop the absorption of the water. I put one in the tube and it has been the for two days without sinking. I am very close to releasing these for orders. Stay tuned, no spray required.

Today I tested the Alazur temp sensor that is available on Amazon for a little over $100. It have text, App and Email notifications when an alarm is set. I worried about a time delay from when it sent the alarm and how long the vehicle would be without cooling. I designed the holder to attach directly to the vehicle AC vent so I could set the temp very low. With this experiment I set my alarm to 65 deg. I ran the vehicle while I was in it then cut off the engine to simulate a failure of the cooling system. Here are the results and I was very happy with the way it worked. After turning the engine off and having the alarm set to 65 deg the alarm came in on text, app and email in 47 sec. I am going to do some more testing but I was very happy with this outcome. I was able to stay in the vehicle with no problem. I have always worried about leaving the AC on and the K9 in the back but couldn't afford the high end systems. I had to mount the sensor face down and drill a hold where the input was. I am editing the design to make the sensor hole part of the design.

So yesterday I sprayed the scent buoy with a water proof coating, then left it in the water overnight. This time the buoy stayed afloat for 24 hrs. Although not ideal to have coat it I also put one in with a pool noodle and it to stayed afloat for 24 hrs.

Yesterday I deployed a scent buoy in the pond when I started a training session. We setup and worked several problems on land and work until around 11. We started at 8am and that's when deployed the buoy. When I retrieved it the buoy was at the same level when I put it out. So from that the leaking problem is very slow. I will continue to test it and add updates.

When I encounter a problem, I can't easily move on from it; I'm just happy to be retired and have the time to experiment...

When I encounter a problem, I can't easily move on from it; I'm just happy to be retired and have the time to experiment. Here is the complete concept drawing for the Scent Buoy. I've managed to print all the components and am still in the testing phase of the device. It had to be compact and portable while still efficiently emitting scent. I discovered that the extra fishing line can be tucked into the counterweight tube, creating a tidy package. The final product is likely just a few days away. The "A" the anchor tube while "C" is the counter weight.

Here is a short video showing a shoreline deployment problem with the scent buoy. I am still working out minor detail but I think this is going to make the shoreline training much easier to setup without any cords or string coming back to the shore. This is the green petg print. You can adjust the counter weight so the buoy is not visible while leaving enough to recover it with a pool hook.

So I left the buoy in the hot tube overnight and it water logged and sunk. I corrected this problem with a small cross cut from a pool noodle to increase the buoyancy. I will let this set for 24 hours and see if it solves the problem.

When doing shore line you can recover the tube with a pool pole hook. Remember I can print these in different colors so a green would not be as visible. No string to the bank for the K9 to find.
