On behalf of everyone at Challenge My Coin, we extend our deepest gratitude for entrusting us with the incredible honor of creating this memorial challenge coin celebrating the life and legacy of FDNY Firefighter Nicholas P. Chiofalo.

A special thank-you to Jerry Nardello. Your love for Nick—not only as your brother-in-law, but as one of your closest friends—is reflected in every meaningful detail incorporated into this tribute. Your dedication to ensuring that his story continues to be told, 25 years after September 11, is a testament to the extraordinary bond you shared and the remarkable man Nick was.

As we learned more about Nick—his courage as a firefighter with FDNY Engine 235, his service as a Fire Captain in Selden, his devotion to his family, and his love of softball, golf, and fireworks—we came to understand that this coin represents far more than metal and artwork. It represents a life defined by courage, duty, sacrifice, friendship, and love.

We hope this memorial coin brings comfort and pride to the entire Nardello and Chiofalo families and serves as a lasting reminder that Nick’s legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone who knew him, loved him, and continues to honor him.

Thank you for allowing Challenge My Coin to play a small part in preserving the memory of a true American hero. It is a privilege we will never forget.

Challenge My Coin would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the LT Michael Murphy Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps for entrusting us with the creation of this custom challenge coin.

Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient Lt. Michael P. Murphy, this outstanding Sea Cadet division is dedicated to developing young leaders through honor, courage, respect, teamwork, and service to others. Since its founding in West Sayville in 2012, the division has inspired the next generation to lead with integrity and patriotism while preserving the remarkable legacy of one of America’s greatest heroes.

It was truly an honor to create a challenge coin that reflects the pride, tradition, and excellence of your organization. We are grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in recognizing the incredible work you do for our nation’s youth.
