Whew!! What a weekend!!! 🍉🍉

Y’all pretty much sold us out of everything we had bottled up 🤣 It was awesome to see so many people who’ve gotten honey from us before…and lots of new people we had the pleasure of meeting too!!

A shoutout to our awesome neighbors from Belleza!! It was great to meet you all! 🥰

Hopefully we’ll see you all again same time next year! ❤️

Stop on by for the last day of the Melon Fest! 🍉🍉 We’ve moved some things and bleached some areas down to help mitigate the little visitors 😉🤣🤣

Stop on down and grab some goodies or just say hi! ☺️

A few yellow jackets found our booth today, then went and told their friends 🫣 Our apologies to anyone who wanted to stop by this evening, but it was just…not good 🥴

We’ll be up tomorrow for the last day of the Melon Fest, hopefully without the gauntlet of little stinging critters! 🤣

Welp, today is the day that officially started it all. 32 years ago today the boss and I got married 👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️ Beekeeping wasn’t on our bingo cards when we got married 🤔 but here we are 🤣

Here’s to the next 32! 🥂

Ahh, again overseas countries are doing what should be done here!

Did you know there is no certified organic honey made in the U.S., apart from in a couple of apiaries in Hawaii? If you buy honey labeled as organic, you can pretty well be guaranteed that it is imported honey.

Would it surprise you to know that a huge chunk of “organic” honey sold in the U.S. comes from…wait for it…Brazil. Yes Brazil, the subject of the EU import suspension in the article. It will be interesting to see what the inspection results conclude 🤔

The European Union will suspend meat imports from Brazil from September 3 after the South American country failed to guarantee its compliance ‌with EU rules on the use of antimicrobial substances, an EU Commission spokesperson said on Tuesday.

New spot alert! 📣

We got to meet some of the people behind Giles Meats back at the Norwalk Jaycees Strawberry Festival. Not only did they have some outstandingly amazing burgers but were just the nicest people to chat with!

Today we got to drop off some honey 🍯 to their meat market in Willard. Not only do they have outstanding meats, but you can also find some other goodies there (seasonings, Hartzler’s milk, rotating home bakers, plus more!) As an added bonus, you can grab a burger and fries while you’re there! 🍔

Give their page a like/follow and stop on out!

This is how honey sold in the U.S. should be labeled. Clearly and precisely with exact percentages of honeys from their countries of origin.

If you gasp and clutch your pearls that “Irish honey” isn’t Irish honey, then hold onto your britches 😱because packers here in the U.S. “blend” as well. Is it 5% Chinese honey and 95% US? Is it 99% Indian honey and 1% US? 🤔 Only the packers know. 🤫

This is why it’s important to buy local…whether it’s us or another local, reputable beekeeper. Same goes for pollen, propolis, or any of the byproducts of the bees. Ask questions! Ask if they harvest the pollen or are they reselling? (Btw if you want locally harvested pollen, contact Jules Bzzz Elixir Apiary 😉 She harvests from her hives, it’s 100% local pollen!) Any reputable beekeeper will have no problem answering your questions…and will probably give you more info than you ever thought to ask 🫣🤣

Boyne Valley’s ‘Pure & Natural’ blend is packed in Co Louth but entirely made up of honey from China, Spain and Argentina
