The Dloughy family made the trip from Iowa to Lake Vermilion and jumped into Captain Wyatt’s boat with two goals — catch their first walleyes and have a fish fry!

The boys took care of business, putting some big ones in the boat along with a limit of walleyes. They were even nice enough to let Dad catch a few!

The musky fishing has been pretty darn consistent in the last couple weeks! It seems all types of structures are holding fish, however, figuring out the timing of bite windows is key!

This was a special fish caught the traditional way in Capt. Tim Hanske’s boat this weekend! Jay has been out trying to get the 50 incher and he met that goal in Tim’s boat with this beautiful 50.5 inch musky! These special moments are what guiding is all about us!

Jay and his crew are staying at the amazing Agency Bay Lodge (ABL). ABL’s location is primo for chasing all species on Leech Lake and offers a boat launch, bar and food, bait, gas, a plethora of tackle, and friendly people!

If you want to get in on some 2027 musky action, generally August through September time is a fantastic window up here on Leech Lake! The 2027 calendar is now open and the LOA musky guides will be ready to rock!

The Leech Lake Muskies were happy today with Capt. Tim Hanske!

Alex got a very healthy 46.5 incher and Katie got a 45 incher and a cute one that they let shake off at the boat! They moved several others and got some like as well.
