Nick finished two pieces and we have moved them into the sales area.

The first is an oak 20 drawer Filing Cabinet. This piece was “rescued” from a work shop/garage. Thus it needed a lot of work to clean and repair it. It is now ready to go into your ‘office’ or crafts room!

The second is an ash highboy dresser. Ash is Oak’s look-alike sibling. This dresser has six drawers - while most dressers of this type only have five.

Shady Lawn no longer makes nor sells ice cream. However we have a great selection of ice cream collectibles and/or display items.

Do you remember eating ice cream with a wooden spoon from a small round individual serving container?

Dave doesn’t remember the “round pyramid shaped” ice cream scoops or the paper lined pewter ice cream sundae holders.

Dave does remember the small square ice cream boxes. They were just the size of an ice cube tray - you could put ice cream in a refrigerator that only had a place for four ice cube trays (and no additional freezer space).

Nick created this Yard-Stick Table top on a small older table. The Table top is 22 1/2” by 30 1/2” and the Table is 30” tall.

They say ‘you should measure twice and cut once’… So if Nick measured a measuring stick (yard-stick) is that measuring twice?

Nick has been working on a Cabinet with 20 drawers. The Cabinet had been used in a machine shop.

And the only way to get the drawers clean enough for “in-door” use was to take each drawer apart and sand it clean… yes that quickly became a huge project.

Nick is nailing and gluing a drawer back together in this photo. The Cabinet is going to be structurally sound and beautiful!

We recently acquired a pair of leaded glass windows. They are Tiffany Style, with many small pieces of brightly colored glass incorporated into the design.

These windows were likely created in the 1970s. They were well made, but are a ”bit clumsy” compared to an authentic Tiffany window.

The great thing is that we have two matching windows. There are no visible cracked pieces of glass, in either window!!

We are pricing each window individually - if you want or need a pair of windows, act quickly!!

We just acquired this book, “Waitsburg , ‘One of a Kind’”, written by Vance Orchard.

In reviewing the book, we see that the Waitsburg Times on Friday, July 31, 1908 recorded the story of turning wheat into biscuits in 22 minutes…

Well here it is Friday, July 31, 2026, exactly 118 years later, to the day…

Basically the story documents harvesting the wheat, milling the wheat to flour, and baking biscuits - all in 22 minutes!

And now Shady Lawn documents the story once again. We have one copy of this Waitsburg book and it is available at Shady Lawn Antiques:

We added two pieces of antique oak furniture to our inventory today. The first is an Arts and Crafts style Server/Sideboard.

The second is an oak Bookcase with a glass front door. The shelves are original to the cabinet.
