My “Pottery Post of the Day” from our personal collection.

Early ovoid jug stamped Lyman and Clark, Gardiner (Maine). Large ochre flourish with date 1837. Although it has spidered cracks, it’s in remarkable condition to be 189 years old!

We found this jug in an antique store in Asheboro NC a few years ago and it has remained in our personal collection.

It is our only stoneware or pottery piece with ochre decoration.

We admire it for the simplicity, longevity and enduring quality of this piece.

It is our only dated piece of stoneware in our personal collection.

Some of the larger salt glazed pottery in our collection. The churn and larger double handled jug are probably from the piedmont area of NC.

The shorter double handled jug is stamped HNL for Henry Newton Long - Crawford County GA. It has great thick glaze runs.

I took a great primitive antique bucket bench with worn blue-green paint and mortise & tenon construction to Antique Market Place GSO in Greensboro NC this week. It’s located in booth JJEA hiding under records and comic books. It’s waiting to go home and become a star attraction in someone’s home to show off their stoneware or wooden ware collection.

Large red painted bowl not for sale. Someone will have to pry it out of my hands after I die!

Antique Market Place is located at 6428 Burnt Poplar Rd in Greensboro NC. Hours are Mon-Sat 10am to 6pm and Sunday 1pm to 6pm.

Kathy Dix made one of her daily videos in our booth at The Just Plain Country Store this week. She is such a sweet lady and an inspiration to so many! Plan on visiting the Just Plain Country Store in Walnut Cove NC to meet Kathy and see the 150 booths. We have 3 booths with primitives, vintage and antiques in the basement. Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10am to 5pm.

Hanging Rock State Park, Priddy’s General Store, Pilot Mountain State Park, Old Salem and Mount Airy are all within a 30 minute drive from The Just Plain Country Store so it would be a great weekend trip!

I just listed this on Facebook marketplace for $365.

This is a working primitive hanging folk art carnival wheel. I purchased it from a Carolina Beach antique collector’s estate. This is a unique statement piece item that would look great in a game room or man cave.
