Summers can be HOT in the Bay Area and all over the U.S.☀️🌡️
You might be wondering whether your chocolate can survive in this heat. The answer is Yes . . . BUT we need your help. From June - September, following our Summertime Shipping guidelines is important!
Nobody knows better than us that chocolate is a necessity all year round!
There all kinds of reasons to share the gift of chocolate this Summer: 🎂birthdays, ✨anniversaries, 💕get well soon, 😩i'm sorry, ❤️we love you...and more.
We take extra special care during the Summer months to ensure your chocolate shipment is protected from the heat, but there are a few logistics that only Mother Nature can control!
To ensure the safe arrival of your delicious chocolate, please follow the guidelines below:
1. DO A TEMPERATURE CHECK
When you place an order online for shipping, we always check the temperatures here at the shop and at the point of delivery to decide if it is safe to ship your order. We never ship items until temps are under 85ºF. This means that you should check the temps in your local area before ordering and if it's too hot, we suggest you wait until there is a cooler stretch of days to place your order. This means you might need to plan ahead if you want your item to be delivered by a specific date.
If temps are under 85ºF, we will process your order and package your item with ❄️cooling ice packs❄️ and heat resistant packaging during the warmer Summer months.
If we decide it is too hot to ship your order, we will notify you via email and give you the option of waiting for cooler weather or canceling your order and placing another order later. Be sure to check your email for messages from us.
2. ORDER EARLY IN THE WEEK
During the hot Summer months (June - Sept), we recommend you place your orders Sunday - Tuesday. That way, we can get your order processed and in the mail so that it arrives before the weekend. Why? Two reasons: 1)Because delivery services (UPS, USPS, etc) often charge more for weekend deliveries and 2)because delivery services may have slower service on the weekends and there is the danger that your package might sit in a delivery truck too long and melt. And no one wants that!
3. TRACK YOUR ORDER & BE AT HOME FOR DELIVERY
One final note: it's best to be at home to receive your order or can be home shortly after it is delivered! You will receive a tracking number as soon as you place your order. Be aware of when your chocolate is scheduled to arrive so you can pull it inside as soon as possible. No melted porch chocolate, please!☀️🏡
