I saw this post and just couldn’t help but share!
“Lately, life has felt really heavy.
I’m a mom, a wife, a friend, and I’m also trying to grow a small business. I love my kids deeply, but I’ve been overwhelmed, overstimulated, touched out, and constantly feeling like I’m failing someone.
When I was home with my kids, I felt guilty that I wasn’t working on orders. When I was working, I felt guilty that I wasn’t with my kids. When the kids were in bed, I felt guilty that I was in my office instead of spending time with my husband. And when I finally had a moment alone, I felt guilty for wanting it.
I kept thinking, “If my kids would just nap… if they would just play independently… if I could just have a few uninterrupted hours…”
But I realized something: my kids weren’t the problem. I was simply carrying too much.
I was expecting myself to be everything for everyone, while never giving myself any real space to breathe.
I don’t have everything figured out, but I’m learning that boundaries aren’t selfish. My business can wait. The laundry can wait. An order doesn’t have to be done the second it comes in. My kids don’t need a mom who is constantly entertaining them—they need me. And I need to allow myself to actually be present with them.
Most importantly, I’m reminding myself that this is a season, not my forever.
If you’re a mom who feels like you’re drowning in the mental load, who loves your family fiercely but still desperately wants to be alone sometimes, who feels guilty no matter what you’re doing…
You are not a bad mom. You are not broken. You are not alone.
Maybe you don’t need to try harder.
Maybe you need to carry less.
There is hope. ❤️”
Just thought I'd share in case there's another momma who is facing the guilt and mental load of trying to carry and be all the things.
