Our origin story: Wicked Gifts has been in business for 3 and a half years. I'm grateful to be a part of such a great small town community and a part of Sunflower Boutique KS. When I started in July 2022 with The Feathered Arrow it was because I LOVE to craft. My husband told me I could only have so many crocheted critters, so I may as well sell them to fund my craft addiction. I filled up 2 18 gal totes anticipating being a part of the Tulip Festival. Problem is... im an introverted extrovert and while I can people I dont enjoy it. So when I was approached by The Feathered Arrow my goal was to sell enough to pay the shop and if I got a bit to buy my craft supplies that was a bonus. I crocheted my heart out. Then invested in epoxy, a different laser, a vinyl cutter, sublimation printers. Next goal is a uv printer (I have a ways to go to save for that on). Then bought a better diode and an infrared laser. When The Feathered Arrow shut down I wasn't sure what I was going to do. I had totes of crafts. I tried Etsy by people wanted special orders and then didn't pay. I decided online wasn't for me. When I was approached by Sunflower Boutique it was a gift from God. I didn't have to think or consider it, I knew my critters and crafts needed homes. I reworked my set up. Made new displays. Made my crafts cause that's what I do. At this time I have one business I partner with for branding and hide in my craft cave like a creative dragon discovering what items people like the best. Its not about getting rich. You're not paying for my new truck. Shopping with Wicked Gifts is keeping this small business in craft supplies to allow this hermit to continue crafting. I do this because I get bored and the things I sell will go to a kid that will love them, a grandma for her collection, a mom that just needs a treat or a gift to a husband or father for all his hard work. Its about being part of a community while not being present in it. So next time you stop by the booth and see those cute earrings or crochet turtle. You're not supporting big corporate. You're supporting a very small hobby business. You're helping this lady make cute things in her spare time. You're saving her husband from drowning in crafts that would otherwise not have a home.
