Remembering Mike LoMauro

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Mike LoMauro, founder of Sussex County Music.

Alongside his beloved wife, Byrdie, Mike helped introduce generations of Sussex County musicians to the joy of music. A drummer, teacher, and lifelong musician, he built a place where countless students took their first lessons and began their musical journeys.

Mike was known for speaking his mind and doing things his own way. As his son lovingly wrote, he was "an amazing father, an incredible teacher, a genuinely good man, and a grumpy old man."

We are grateful for the foundation Mike and Byrdie created, and we are proud to carry on their legacy by sharing the gift of music with future generations.

Rest in peace, Mike.
