Norris Consulting Group has been fortunate to be able to work for clients located in some of Georgia's most economically deprived rural counties. We have over 25 years experience working for a variety of non-profit organizations, community collaboratives, school systems, hospitals, long term care organizations, state departments/organizations, public health districts, private institutes, advocacy

groups, Communities in Schools and Family Connection sites and federal agencies. We have also conducted local, state and national resource development and grant writing seminars, which have trained over 5,000 individuals throughout the country. During the past several years, Norris Consulting Group has assisted clients prepare over 285 successfully funded grant proposals totaling over $150 million. This grant funding has empowered our clients to provide a variety of education, health, social service and juvenile delinquency programs and activities. Specific examples include: school-based health centers; school nursing services; school-based mental health services; child health networks; afterschool programs; juvenile delinquency and violence prevention programs; youth development initiatives; school and community-based substance abuse prevention initiatives; mentoring initiatives; HIV/AIDS services; teen pregnancy prevention activities; dental health outreach initiatives; family support and case management activities; employer wellness initiatives; county and statewide health outreach initiatives; statewide health and screening programs; and integrated healthcare computer (technology) infrastructure systems. Funding opportunities are becoming increasingly competitive. As budgets tighten and community needs become greater, more organizations depend upon outside funding. We assist with a wide range of planning and resource development issues that include: strategic planning, project design and management, needs assessment, program/project evaluations, grants management, meeting planning/facilitation and community awareness/public relations. Our mission is to provide innovative, customer oriented, cost effective, timely and accurate work products for our clients. Our clients are the most important aspect of our business. Without them we would not be where we are today.

We are pleased to announce that Carol Norris, President and Senior Consultant, has been elected Vice-President of the Parent-to-Parent of Georgia State Board of Directors. Carol has been a devoted advocate for Georgia's children and families for the past 35 years. She is also a nationally recognized consultant, grant writer and author. Carol is the 2019 Georgia Mother of the Year. She is the mother of 17 year old, Kelsey Norris, who is also a nationally recognized child and family advocate. Parent-to-Parent of Georgia is the official information source and service provider for thousands of Georgia families impacted by disabilities or special health care needs. The organization is Georgia's Parent Training Information Center, Family-to-Family Health Information Center, Babies Can't Wait Central Directory, Parent-to-Parent State Affiliate and Region 8 (southeastern United States) Parent Technical Assistance Center. Carol is humbled and honored to be able to serve this wonderful organization and the thousands of Georgia families it supports.

Food bank officials spoke Tuesday in a virtual news conference about how the economic devastation and job loss caused by the pandemic have raised the demand for food. The conference was hosted by advocacy group Voices for Georgia’s Children and the Georgia Food Bank Association.
