Hello all, hope you are all doing great! We just wanted to say hi and let you know that we have almost completely inventoried our stock and gotten everything in order after closing the doors to our brick and mortar store.

We've had a few people message us about custom colored pencil sets for gifts for the holidays. We do still have plenty in stock and that is definitely something we can do. Let us know if you are interested in something like that!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Thanks to all who came out last week to support us.

Just a reminder that our hours this week have changed. We will be open until two today, and Wednesday through Friday we will be open from 12-6. Friday is our last day in our brick and mortar store, but Fresh Canvas will still be selling through our online store. Check us out at www.freshcanvasfas.com for all of your art supply needs.

Several people have asked me if we will continue with our facebook and our artist of the week posts. We would be happy to share local artwork and to still feature artists, so if you are interested just get in contact with us!

Hope to see you guys this week. We will miss all of you stopping in and sharing your current projects with us!

We'll have different hours for our brick and mortar store for our last week open so that we can start moving out. Our showroom will remain intact until August 31, 2018. New Hours are as follows:
-Friday, August 24th -11-6pm
-Saturday, August 25th - 12-6pm
-Sunday and Monday - CLOSED
-Tuesday - 10am -2pm
-Wednesday and Thursday - 12-6pm
- Friday August 31st (last day) 12-6pm

Our Website www.freshcanvasfas.com will remain open but may experience short, temporary outages while we rework our business model and transition inventory. Please stay tuned....

It's with great sadness that we have to make this announcement. Fresh Canvas Fine Art Supplies will be closing it's doors on August 31, 2018. We have been bleeding money for months, trying to make a positive impact on the Middle Georgia community. Our efforts have been unsuccessful. Even after I went back to work part time to help supplement income, we still aren't making enough money to keep the business and our family afloat. If every person that liked our page would spend $10 in our store, we would not be closing and in fact, would be above the red line. We will not be having a going out of business sale. We plan on keeping our website www.freshcanvasfas.com open for the time being. We love each and every customer that has graced our business with their presence. You will be greatly missed.

This week one of our favorite younger artists came in with a gift. He thought that our Thanos planter deserved something a little more fierce than the plant that was in it so he bought us this darling venus fly trap!

Edit: the club was cancelled for today, so we're were not closed near as long as announced!

We are going to be closing the store for about an hour from 3:15 - 4:15 today (Wed. 8/15) in order to pick up one of our children from their after school art activities! Hopefully one day soon we'll be sharing the artwork that they are creating there.

Our Artist of the Week this week is Deneise D***s Ricketson! We are delighted to be able to share her art with you and get to know her a little bit more.

FC: Were you exposed to art much as a child?

DDR: I wasn’t exposed to too much art as a child other than seeing paintings done by my uncle in the style of Picasso and even a matador painted on velvet. I always thought it would be cool to paint like him.

FC: Who would you say was your biggest artistic influence?

DDR: There is no way I could answer this one because I’m influenced by so many artists, from unknown local artists to the masters. (Some of my favorites are Mucha, Dali, Kandinsky) I also love Zendala & Mandala which I find very therapeutic.

FC: When did you decide that you wanted to be an artist?

DDR: I’ve always had an interest but it’s only been in the past 2 or 3 years that I’ve dove in head first. It just makes me feel happy to be creating something.

FC: Did you attend an art school?

DDR: I have not attended an art school. Self taught and still learning. The struggle is real. :p

FC: What is your favorite medium to work in?

DDR: Acrylic mostly

FC: What advice would you give other artists?

DDR: Just do it. It’s inside you even if you don’t realize it. It’s a magical way to escape. (And make a few bucks.) Don’t be too critical of your work. (I’m still working on that last one.) And most of all have fun.
