Founded by Maria Corbitt, GIFTSIE is a minority woman-owned boutique dedicated to supporting women- and minority-owned makers throughout the DMV region.

Some passions are always there—you just need the right moment to bring them to life. Creating by hand has always been second nature behind this brand—from jewelry to thoughtful crafts, long before it became a business.

While planning a wedding, creativity took center stage, designing a delicate Beauty and the Beast–inspired aesthetic—soft, romantic, and uniquely personal. That moment sparked something deeper.

Then came 2020.

At a time when it was hard to find meaningful décor and gifts, creativity became a way to connect and create with intention—helping others bring their ideas to life through handmade pieces that feel personal, dainty, and full of heart.

Raised in a musical and artisanal family, Jenny carries her traditions with her in every stitch. For her, embroidery is more than an art form—it is a way to stay connected to her Colombian roots, honor her heritage, and share the beauty of Latin American artistic expression with the world.

Alejandro started his candle business to buy more books, save for college, and help those in need. Today, a portion of each month’s profits is donated to charity — and he’s working toward creating a scholarship fund to help send other kids to college too.

With the help of his little sister Valentina and his mom Patricia, this family-run business is built on love, purpose, and the belief that we are stronger when we take care of each other.
