supporting Black-owned fashion is important - since fast fashion brands are producing such an over-supply of clothing, excess clothing often ends up being dumped in African countries like Ghana, Kenya, and Zambia. this takes business away from local artisans, not only having negative economic impacts but also contributing to the erasure of the culture and tradition that comes with artisan craftsmanship. by celebrating Black-owned designers and businesses, we can all play a part in helping to preserve the beauty of Black artistry.⁣

As a kid, I always wondered why it’s called Boxing Day. Now, I know what it means but incase you don’t, the meaning is below.

What’s Boxing Day? During Advent, Anglican parishes displayed a box into which churchgoers put their monetary donations. On the day after Christmas, the boxes were broken open and their contents distributed among the poor, thus giving rise to the term Boxing Day.
