Ricki Peltzman, owner and buyer, and co owner Katy Klassman have a simple philosophy when it comes to buying for the shop. They always ask themselves two questions: would we wear it and would we buy it at the retail price? To that end, the merchandise is an inte

resting mix of upscale fashionable clothing and accessories that will take customers from work to dinner, and won’t go out of style. At Upstairs on 7th you can enjoy a shopping experience that is relaxed, yet inspired. We are known for our unique designer clothing including Ray Harris, Rundholz, Rachel Comey, Planet, Kedem Sasson, Reina Lee, Giada Forte, Moyuru, Monies, and Natalie Martin among others. We were voted in the top three stores for accessories in the city, with jewelry ranging from $40 and up. Katy has opened a small gift store within the store that includes beautiful candles from Linneas' Lights and Tatine, as well as puzzles from John Derian and Wink and beautiful small paper goods from many international designers. Perfect for hostess gifts. As Ricki says, "We don't want to be the most exclusive store in DC, we just want to be the best."

And so we welcome the first gems of fall 2026/2027!

We have so much to share with you as the season unfolds.

New lines from Japan, Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany, France, and all of the brands that have kept us inspired and well-dressed for twenty years.

As we start this milestone year, we are full of gratitude and ready to embark on the next twenty years.
