The garden is looking overgrown. Mostly green, not a lot blooming. I generally use many more blossoms than greens, but some designs need the foliage. I was able to grab a few magnolias, hydrangea, dill, primrose, snowberry, bellflower, clover, and roses to decorate my table today. This is a big one, maybe 2 feet across, and fragrant in a sweet, herbal way. It's not my favorite design ever, but I'm glad to have these to play with without having to do any shopping! I'm also glad that our anemone buds and dahlia plants are quietly maturing. Slow summer days, but fall weddings are coming!

A camera roll scroll offered up this bouquet of leftovers from the spring. Our garden peonies, poppies, and roses mixed with retail orchids and irises. It's an unexpected combination, and it probably lasted one day, but I like the contrast of colors and textures, temperate and tropical.
