Do you not know Me by now?
That question has followed me through some of the hardest seasons of my life.
Today, on the Fourth of July, I’m thinking about REAL freedom.
Not just freedom in a country.
Not just freedom in a circumstance.
But freedom in the Spirit.
Freedom from needing to know every detail before I trust God.
Freedom from trying to make everything make sense.
Freedom from being chained to the hustle, the strategy, the fear, the “what if,” and the need to control what only God can carry.
I have been in a season where my flesh keeps saying:
I need to know where the provision is coming from.
I need to know how the bills are getting paid.
I need to know how the doors are going to open.
I need to know what comes next.
But God keeps reminding me:
“You don’t need to know all of that. You just need to know Me.”
And that is real freedom.
Endurance is active, but it is not always anxious.
Sometimes endurance looks like actively trusting.
Actively resting.
Actively praying.
Actively seeking the Father.
Actively choosing faith when your circumstances still have questions.
If you are carrying more than people know today, this devotional is for you.
For the moms.
For the dads.
For the ones trying to hold everything together.
For the ones smiling at the cookout while silently wondering how God is going to work it all out.
For the ones who love God but still get tired.
For the ones learning to rest in the storm.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
— 2 Corinthians 3:17
Read, save, and share with someone who needs to be reminded:
God sees you.
God knows you.
And God’s got you.
