One of my favorite answers in the Q&A was when the producer shared how she named it “American Doctor” because Americans love medical shows like Grey’s anatomy etc.. and a university ended up streaming it to it’s medical faculty to people who had NO IDEA what they were coming to watch. At the end of it they were screaming “how can we help?”. This is impact.

I’m so grateful I got to listen to the Q&A with the producer Poh Si Teng after the film. What an incredible person. She was so enlightening and inspiring. She went ALL IN on this quitting her job and cashing out her saving to produce it. We should come together to help sell the tickets 🎫 so it makes it to streaming platforms later online!

This documentary is so important. It changes the perspective and narrative. It gets people moving again and doing something.

Corey always goes for the Finest prints that I make 🤌🏼 I appreciate it.

He said people stopped him on the street to compliment the print as he was walking out of the event.
I told him to take it on walks more often 😆.

Also he’s been a great supporter of our cause, speaking up, spending his days and weekends on hot days and cold days on the streets raising awareness. 🫡✊🏼

Hey it’s Mosab Abu Toha (Poet) at my booth 😄

It was a pleasure meeting Mosab in person & being part of Naji Al Ali Event hosted by Dar AlHurriya . Turns out not only Mosab is a writer & Poet but also can sing 🎶!

I really enjoyed being part of the audience and a vendor.
All the Art by Naji Al Ali and songs by The Brooklyn Nomads brought back alot of childhood memories from my upbringing in Pali and a feeling of home 🍉

Thank you to everyone who stopped at my booth and supported my Artwork after the show 🙏❤️ I continue to afford to make my Art because of people like you!

One of the things that make waking up at 6:00am for my booths or driving to DC easier is the people I meet at these events! We share laughter, conversation, depth and connection. Many of you have become part of my friend circle over the years and ones I celebrate occasions with 🥹🙏 you all have gave me a sense of home and community here in the diaspora when I knew NOBODY.

Yesterday I did 2 booths in 1 day, my day started at 6:00am at the farmer’s market and ended at night with an amazing event Dar AlHurriya . And this morning i’m just thinking about the soulful connections I made yesterday and the funny & deep conversations we had ❤️ you all made my day joyful. I’m so grateful.

Some of you yesterday shared thoughtful words with me that i’m keeping close to my heart. And you gave me a reminder that i’m here because my past self started this in 2018. She showed up. And i’m so grateful I didn’t give up.

Especially during times when the world is lit of fire and our hearts break many times for Alegeria, Nepal and Belad Al Sham (Levant) and much more. It’s those spaces where we come together that fuel us with meaning 🙏❤️

The world lost a legend today. Sliman Mansour Sliman Mansour was an iconic Artist. There’s no one that paints like him or tells the stories the way he did. He really represents our cause, roots, reality, grief, pain, Joy and essence with full dignity.

I will always be inspired by his Art 🙏❤️
