More child-friendly crochet plushies! 🧶

Meet Adrienne the Elephant 🐘 and Tilly the Tortoise 🐢—two sweet little friends made especially with little ones in mind. ❤️

These adorable patterns by Laurence Jourdan are crocheted entirely in fiber, with no buttons, plastic eyes, or other small pieces that could pose a choking hazard. Just soft, squishy goodness!

Introducing “Bear”! ❤️🐾

That’s the name given to this sweet little hound dog after being gifted to a very special young boy. I hope he becomes a treasured companion for years to come.

My newest make…and I absolutely love it! 🩵🧶

I started this project with two hanks of hand-dyed yarn, convinced it would be enough.

Fortunately…it wasn’t! 😁

A quick trip to Shiloh & Denise LYS Indie Dyer saved the day with the perfect solid contrasting color to make this top really POP! Sometimes running out of yarn turns out to be the best design decision.

I made the top slightly longer than the pattern instructions, added a delicate picot border to the sleeves, and used the contrasting yarn for the seaming to tie it all together.

Hey AK! The rain has moved on, and the sun is shining brightly! ☀️

My rainy-day project is finally complete! This is the beautiful “Wildflower Tuf” embroidery kit by Karly Carter | Hand Embroidery in Alaska 🩵. I couldn’t resist adding my own touch, so I crocheted around the hoop, added a beaded hanging loop, and finished it off with a little twine bow. 🧵🌼

And yes… I gave my trusty XTRATUF boots a good cleaning (or at least my best attempt 😆). They’ve certainly earned every scuff and speck of mud after these past few rainy weeks. 🌧️

I wish I had captured more of the festival on camera, but I was far too busy admiring everything…and shopping. Obviously. 😂

There is so much to see and do at the Mat-Su Valley Fiber Festival! Browse incredible vendors, take classes, meet talented fiber artists, and yes…there’s food too!

So hey, Alaska…it’s a soggy day. Why not spend it in the barn shopping for some beautiful yarn? The festival is open until 4:00 p.m. today at the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Enter through the Red Gate (off Rebarchek Road).

As for me? I’ll be cozied up indoors creating beautiful things. 😘🧶💕

I’ve been busy making baby… 🍼

…things! 🤍

A special request for handmade baby items in sage and cream (such a popular color combination these days!) sent me down the Pinterest rabbit hole looking for inspiration and patterns. 😂

Most of these pieces were freehand creations—including the loveys, snugglers, hats, and blanket. The only patterns I followed were for the booties and the pacifier minder.

The pacifier minder really got my creative wheels turning. I couldn’t resist adding a few special embellishments, which inspired the slip-on bear and elephant—both freehand designs as well!

I definitely see more baby creations in my future. One of my favorite things about custom orders is that they challenge me to think outside the box and spark new ideas. Creativity has a way of growing when someone trusts you to make something just for them. 🫶

And of course, there’s nothing sweeter than creating handmade treasures that will be loved by a brand-new little one. 💚🤍

This amazing, family-run U-pick farm now hosts a weekly farmers market every Wednesday and Saturday from noon–6 p.m. Wednesdays feature fun, hands-on activities for the kiddos, and Saturdays bring a great lineup of local vendors.

Their new farm stand offers pantry staples, canned goods, locally made handcrafts, farm-fresh eggs, and whatever veggies are in season.

I picked their honeyberries last summer (they’ll be in season again soon!), and they are DELICIOUS. You can even enjoy made with honeyberries from the farm—along with a refreshing fresh-squeezed lemonade while you’re there. 🍦🍋🫐

Be sure to check out online to see everything they offer to Alaskans throughout the Mat-Su and beyond.

Good, healthy food for the body—and a farm visit that’s good for the soul. 💚

Today we Americans celebrate this great nation and the land we are blessed to call home. As we mark 250 years of our nation’s history, we give thanks to God for His abundant grace, mercy, and faithfulness through every triumph and every trial.

Today is also a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who fought for the freedoms we cherish today. May we never take these blessings for granted.

On this Independence Day, may God continue to bless America, guide our leaders with wisdom, unite and inspire each of us to live with faith, gratitude, compassion, and hope.

Custom made for a die hard Prince fan. This was purchased as a kit from It was an easy to follow and thorough kit too. I was pleasantly surprised. I may have to duplicate this in bulky plush yarn for a larger version. 😊 💟

Currently in the Oklahoma and Arkansas area celebrating the union of an adorable couple. The wedding ceremony and reception were absolutely beautiful!

With a little extra time to explore, my hubby and I came across a father and son trotting down a backcountry road on horseback. They were on their way to cool off in a nearby stream. The simple beauty of that moment made my heart sing and brought thoughts of my own father, who has been in his heavenly home for nearly 15 years. I miss him dearly.

On this Father’s Day, I wish all dads a beautiful and blessed day. May you always know the joy, love, and admiration of the children you raise, and may the memories you create together be treasured for a lifetime. ❤️
