So I guess I will share this. I had a head-on (well, my front end to the passenger side of a car) accident here in Michigan off a main road called M-59.
I am wrecked up pretty bad. Broken right rib, major whiplash & a possible collar-bone fracture. Bunches of bruises, couple contusions. Sore all over.
Some lady just decided to drive thru a blinking red light late at night (amns STOP then go if clear). I had a blinking yellow (slow down, don't have to stop but keep going - YELLOW HAS RIGHT OF WAY).
She was obviously talking to her front passenger, half blind OR too preoccupied playing on a phone or on a phone call. I call the later on those guess. If she stopped & didn't see me, she lied, flat out, to the cop. No way that care went 0-45 in less then the second it took her to go out into the intersection. AND SHE HAD A PASSENGER!
I could have killed that passenger if it wasn't for the bright thinking of me swerving towars the passenger side BACK DOOR so as to avoid any major impact. I was doing about 47-50 in a 50 area ... hers I am not sure but I am going to guess, minimum, 35-45. IN A CONSTRUCTION AREA TOO! I did indeed, have the right-a-way.
I slammed into the metal that divides the front side passengers door & rear passenger's side door. Probably saved her passenger's life doing that because all she had wrong was a fu**ed up leg. Driver perfectly fine but shooken. Probably because I was trying to save both of theirs & mine. At least I had the quick thought of not trying to let anyone die.
Totalled my car because I was trying to save everyone's life until the medic found me dazed & confused walking around in the middle of the FU***NG INTERSECTION !!!! At 12:07am! Just trying to get home from my girls house to mine. ***sigh*** I suffered about 2-3 minutes of confusion to what happened but then everything came back to me as soon as the cops talked to me.
Luckily the cop knew me because I worked just 2 blocks from the section up over a hill from there. A gas station. So he comes in almost every shift I have if he works. Crazy. Told him the complete truth. Was her fault.
The pics below ... I should have died. I mean, it's a 20 year old van. Talk about luck & smart thinking. The van is totalled. THis was my only vehicle. I got forced to pay 100$ out of pocket just get TO my vehicle, get my stuff out & then basically sign it over to the junkyard to scrap. Didn't get a dime.
YES, their insurance will be covering up to you at least the value of what I paid for it & ALL the work (almost $1,000 worth of parts/labor). My insurance will cover my hosptial needs & whatnot, but not the vehicle.
So yeah, if I'm able to sue & get at least $1,500 back from their insurance to get me another used vehicle here in Mich (I can usualy find something decent for that here anyways where I live) .... I'll be fine. I NEED a car & my credit isn't good enough to get a loan. I will need to buy it flatout.
I am also missing alot of work so I won't have much money or time into my BTTF fan page because of costs. I will be out of work at least a week. They told me UP TO SIX FU***NG WEEKS!
I guess in the end, I'm still alive. Thanks for reading.
