Kinderkonzert delivered once again with spooky, silly fun! The band performs this concert every year around Halloween for several elementary schools in our district. It's one of their favorite days of the year! Videos are at the end -- you can see the kids dancing in their seats, and some staring in awe at Patrick playing trumpet.

Thanks to the band kids for delighting the kiddos, and to the parents who helped get everyone dressed and where they needed to be.

🖤❤️🤍 A PERSONAL BEST & A SEASON TO BE PROUD OF 🤍❤️🖤

What a way to bring our return to competitive marching band to the State stage! The band’s post-show energy was palpable, and our kids were so proud of their performance! The Marching Blackshirts delivered their personal-best on the Perkins Stadium field, and you can’t ask for more at State!

While the scoring results weren’t what we had hoped for, the judges’ feedback gives us opportunities to reflect, learn, and keep improving. What the scores DON’T capture is the growth, determination, and heart these students brought to this season, and THAT is worth celebrating!

To our Marching Blackshirts: Be PROUD! You MADE this comeback season happen, and you’ve created memories and laid a foundation for the future of this program. We hope you recognize just how much you’ve accomplished together.

To our band families, volunteers, and fans: THANK YOU for being there through every rehearsal, every performance, and every step of this journey. Your time, encouragement, and unwavering support helped make this season possible.

The score is one moment. We’ll take the lessons, celebrate the progress, and keep building! The growth, the memories, and the Blackshirt Pride will last so much longer.

🖤❤️🤍 THE COMEBACK CONTINUES: WE'RE HEADED TO STATE! 🤍❤️🖤

This year has been about restoring traditions, creating new memories, and showing what the Waukesha South community can accomplish when we come together. With our return to competition, this season is only the beginning!

A HUGE thank you to our band friends and families who helped bring the excitement to life with photos, decorations, snacks, creativity, muscle, showing up, cheering, and so much more! Your behind-the-scenes contributions are a big part of what makes our program so special, and we’re grateful for every bit of time, effort, and support you give our students!

To our Marching Blackshirts, take a moment to appreciate what you’ve accomplished. You’ve put in the hours, pushed through the challenges, kept the scores climbing, and helped bring competitive marching band back to South! Whether this is your final performance as a senior or your very first State experience, you’re part of a season that will always hold a special place in this band's history. As you take the field at Perkins Stadium, be proud of what you’ve built together!

State may not even be our final time taking the field this season! With our football team chasing a playoff berth after a big comeback season of their own, we may get one more chance to celebrate an unforgettable year for South!

On Saturday, October 17, WSMA will welcome thousands of Wisconsin marching band fans to UW-Whitewater Perkins Stadium!

All spectators will be asked to keep their energy high, applause loud, and personal belongings completely visible to all neighbors!

Please read and share Perkins Stadium carry-in policies in advance so all may have seamless entry into the event.
