My building was built around 1871. Find THE HUB sign. This was a Tailor, Clothier and Furnisher, business. Note the difference in the street and building elevation. We found the original plaster and lath ceiling with wallpaper pasted on it. I speculate the merchant became more established and fashion changed and perhaps the tin was applied in the 1880’s. It was attached to firing strips over the wallpaper. The Waupun Historical Society took a picture and replicated it to show what the wallpaper would have looked like.
