There are moments that remind you exactly why you do what you do… and today was one of them. ❤️

I received my very first piece of mail at Kailey’s Makers Market Wausau and Korie’s Closet Consignment Shop, and it wasn’t a bill it was this incredibly thoughtful card from two wonderful people in the neighborhood.

Starting a new business in a new community can feel a little overwhelming at times, but gestures like this mean more than I can put into words. Thank you for taking the time to welcome me and make me feel like I truly belong here.

Wausau, thank you for already making this little shop feel like home. I can’t wait to continue meeting more of you and growing alongside this amazing community. 🫶

I can’t get enough of this walk to my store. 😍 Downtown Wausau is absolutely gorgeous, and every time I’m here, I find something new to admire.

It has such a different vibe from downtown Marshfield both are wonderful in their own way, but Wausau has a whole different energy that’s hard to put into words. I still catch myself thinking, “Wow… this is where my store is.”

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this amazing downtown community. ❤️

Since we have alot of new people I wanted to share Kaileys Story again and my why...

Kailey's Story and My Why....
On October 25, 2014 we were blessed with our miracle Kailey. She was born with a rare complex syndrome called Goldenhar Syndrome, Tetralogy of Fallot, Hydrocephalus and a host of other complex medical needs. And she is the reason why Kailey's Kandles is here today. I would have never gotten into making candles or even thought of wanting my own business but having Kailey at 36 weeks stopped me dead in my tracks (like hitting a brick wall). Once she was born mine and my family’s whole life was thrown upside down and turned inside out. I had to rethink my job, and our families path in life, and how I was going to support all 5 of us because I was a single mom at that time.
While she was in the NICU I was told that Kailey would need multiple surgeries before the age of 2 (As of 2019 she's had 15). So, I knew there was no way I could go back to work. I also couldn't find a daycare that could or was able to take Kailey when she was finally able to be at home at 6 weeks old because of all her complex medical needs. Kailey did however bring certain people and events into my life, as she got older and had her many surgeries, I met some amazing people like my supportive and amazing fiancé Kai.
In July 2017 I met my newfound friend at a craft show. She gave me a shot and said yes to selling me, her candle business Melting Hearts Candle Company and in Jan 2018 it became ours and Kailey's Kandles & Company was born...
A family run, and family-oriented business (with this mom’s sense of humor) and a company Kailey can have and grown with her as she grows….
