Jim took Janke Book Store on a wild trip West! From grabbing a bite with Buffalo Bill to soaring over the Snake River Canyon, taking in roaring waterfalls, and striking poses with local legends (both bronze and buffalo), he didn't miss a beat. He even stopped to make a few alpaca friends in Oregon!

We're thrilled to feature Dexter Patterson, aka , at this year's festival!

Co-founder of Wisconsin's BIPOC Birding Club and co-host of the thebirdjoypod, Dexter will bring his birding passion and expertise to the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum to discuss his guidebook, "Birds of the Great Lakes" on September 25.

And, much like the outdoors, this event is for everyone.

Learn how to begin birding, how to make birding more inclusive and accessible for all, and how the practice can be so much more than just a hobby. Dexter will also speak about his easy-to-use book that helps identify more than 100 commonly seen birds within our region and particularly around the Great Lakes. With an emphasis on best practices & habitat sustainability, this book helps empower conservation and ensures birding around our most precious resources will be possible for years to come.
