I am getting excited. Fresh dahlia flower bouquet season is here. Just a few have opened but there are so many blooms ready to pop!

Yay! I’m so excited to see the first dahlia bloom of the season. I wait for dahlias all year. It’s not even fully open and still gorgeous! The color is vivid and is set off by its dark foliage.

This beauty is Purple Flame. There’s not much information in the ADS classification on the hybridizer, and it looks like the year of first appearance at shows is 2019.

Edited to add although its listed as (NX PR) in the ADS Composite Listing of Dahlias, there does not appear to be anything novel about this bloom. And thanks to Joe Morse for researching the hybridizer A.J.M. Leijten from the Netherlands in 2007.

Well, the downys have found the hummingbird feeders so now the daily filling has begun. I can’t believe the hummingbirds let them do it since they are so territorial!

I did a birthday bouquet for someone’s Grandma today. I hope she loved it.
As my dahlias are starting to come on, keep me in mind if you are local and would like a bouquet for a birthday, anniversary or just because! We have LOTS of beautiful flowers in the rows this year. Everything you see here was grown on our farm. 🤗
