This Saturday, Studio 406 is hosting a Lotería Night and 100% of the funds raised will be donated to the William Marsh Rice Public Library in Rice, Texas.

In 2021, local librarian Amparito Ramirez reached out to the mayor with a simple idea: Rice needed a library for its kids.

At the time, the town didn’t have a place where children could check out books.

When the library opened, Amparito started the collection with nearly 300 books from her own home. Soon, neighbors and people throughout North Texas began donating books and money to help build the collection.

Today, the William Marsh Rice Public Library is volunteer-run and community-supported, and it continues to rely on donations and volunteers to keep growing.

They have proven a library doesn’t have to be big to make a big difference.

We’re so excited to gather our community for a night of Lotería, prizes, food, drinks, and lots of fun all while putting more resources into the hands of a small Texas community that built its library from the ground up.

Back to school is here, leaves are starting to fall, and fingers crossed it’s going to start cooling off soon!
