🇺🇸 Friday Morning | Patriot Day Ceremony

Friday marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

We invite our community to gather at 8:00 a.m. at the Waxhaw Military Wall of Honor on E. North Main Street for the Town of Waxhaw’s annual Patriot Day Ceremony.

This year’s anniversary carries particular significance as we remember the lives lost on September 11, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders and service members, and reflect on a day that forever changed our country.

Our Waxhaw Parks and Recreation team has been working hard to make this year’s ceremony a meaningful commemoration of the 25th anniversary, and we hope you’ll join us downtown for this special morning of remembrance.

🎉 Tomorrow’s the day — come help us give Lebo’s a big Waxhaw welcome!

You may have already stopped in to shop while the Lebo's team has been open, getting settled, and putting the finishing touches on their new Waxhaw location over the past couple of months — but this weekend makes it official!

We’re kicking off Lebo’s Grand Opening Celebration tomorrow, Friday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon cutting alongside Mayor Robert Murray, Town leaders, Downtown Waxhaw Association members, and the Lebo’s team!

And there’s a pretty special story behind that big red sign.

Lebo’s is a locally owned, family business with Carolina roots dating back more than 100 years. Founded in Charlotte in 1923, the company has grown through four generations while remaining committed to family, service, quality & community.

They’ve served Union County for more than 30 years through their Monroe location, and now they’re investing right here in Waxhaw.

Even better, three generations of the Lebo’s family will be joining us tomorrow to celebrate this next chapter!

While their new location sits just outside our downtown district, the Lebo’s team has already expressed a strong desire to support and connect with our downtown businesses & community.

We’re incredibly grateful to have businesses throughout Waxhaw who recognize the value of a strong downtown & choose to support the work of the Downtown Waxhaw Association as community partners.

That support helps us continue investing in the local businesses, programs, experiences, and partnerships that make our downtown special.

🎃 Fright Night is coming... and we need your help! 🍬👻

Downtown Waxhaw’s Fright Night Candy Drive is officially underway! From September 1 - October 16, we’re collecting individually wrapped bags of candy to help make sure all the little ghosts, goblins, princesses, superheroes, and everything in between have a SWEET time at this year’s Fright Night! 🍭🍫

Want to help? Drop off your candy donations in our spooky boo bin on the front porch of the McDonald House!

Every piece of candy donated helps us create a fun and memorable night for our community. ❤️🖤
