You see a hitch on a SUV.
I see a big step towards whatever happens with Lincoln’s Leathers.
Still so many decisions to make, spaces to sort and organize and move, so many logistics to figure out.
But I can tow Lincoln’s Leathers trailer my car now. Or more likely/more often, use the hitch shelf we bought for Dad’s car, since that’s easier to take to pen shows.
The trailer came to my house. It’s step one but it’s a step. It will also make it easier to move all of Lincoln’s Leathers stuff to my house.
And if my dad were here with us, and nothing bad happened this year, the hitch wouldn’t be a big deal. But I cried to the way home from the shop. I think Dad would be proud that I got it done, and I have the confidence to pull our trailer without him… because he taught me to when I was about 21. I just wanted to text him “Dad look! I have a hitch”
I thought maybe you guys would like to see this dumb little big step.
One of the biggest things about grief I am learning- the really hard stuff you don’t expect to be able to handle is more possible than you think. But the dumb and little stuff like someone bringing you cookies or getting a hitch put on your car will make you cry yourself to sleep.
