When I'm overwhelmed or overstimulated, there's nothing I love more than curling up in a comfy spot with a WIP. Ignoring everything else and focusing on a crochet project is so soothing (and definitely better than doomscrolling!)

It's almost WIP Wednesday, so I'll ask now... what are you crocheting this week?

Where would our paths overlap?

In putting this together, I realized just how much time I spend outdoors when I'm not cleaning house or working in my studio. I had to sift through so many water/hiking pics before I could narrow it down to just two to share!

I'm almost amazed that I don't crochet in the wild more often, but after thinking about it, I'm sure it's because I would just like to focus on enjoying a single experience instead of combining too many of them. I'd be too likely to skip a stitch or miss out on outdoor fun if I were to try and do both more often!

You could also add volunteering for Girl Scouts, camping, grocery shopping, & appreciating all the lilac bushes in bloom in a 4 block radius of my house (I think I've found them all!)

So where would our paths be most likely to cross? Have they already?

These vintage inspired kitties are taking over my house! It's a good thing they seem to enjoy watching over my dining room 😸

I really love the effect of having two of them with the colors swapped; they're just a sweet little mismatched pair 🥰 and they've been the perfect addition to my handmade halloween decor collection!

Ugh. The plagiarism machine has no place in art.

I've had comments before, but I ventured onto pinterest this week to find that my granny glasses pattern was being accused of being ai generated. Which is RICH on that platform, considering it's been overrun with ai images 🤦‍♀️ Even worse, this is a totally free pattern, and it would be easy to see that it, well, actually makes sense, as opposed to ai slop.

I guess I'm flattered that some of my pics look "polished", but overall I'm just plain grossed out. How terrible is it that it's become so difficult to determine the difference between an actual hand crafted item and a picture of what a machine thinks a handcrafted item should look like?

Plugging a prompt into a machine is not artistry. Art is creation, fueled by emotion, and built with meaningful, beautiful human imperfection.

I'm so tired of this having to be a debate.

I thought long and hard about it, and it just wouldn't feel right to rush and release this pattern now. So what's a girl to do? Add an extra round of testing to make sure it's up to my standards, and plan ahead to release it next year!

The tester application is live now on Ribblr. I have very minimal requirements, but I prefer if you do have a similarly sized goose already (24")!

Teaters will obviously get free access to this pattern, but they will also receive a pattern of their choice after successful test completion! Photos and video are not required, but appreciated 🤎 There's not even any rush to finish before halloween!

Porch Goose Pumpkin update!

The crochet pattern is *so* close to being ready to publish, but with it being so close to Halloween already, should I hold off on releasing it until next year?
