A little bit about them…
Biota takes great pride in sustainability, aquaculture, and conservation meaning everything we bring in from them has been captive raised by them in isolated facilities- no wild caught fish. Not only are wild caught fish and corals risky and dangerous in terms of disease and pests, but our oceans are overfished and our coral reefs are becoming more and more endangered as years go on.
Not only are captive raised fish way healthier and safer but they adapt better to home aquariums, live longer lives, and will readily eat pellet and frozen foods. Biota has cultured collectively more than 100 types of endangered, rare, and exotic saltwater fish- and a plethora of corals!
Right now, Biota is raising and releasing many native fish *back* into the waters of Palau to help restock depleted populations. By buying aquacultured fish and corals, you can help restore our oceans and feel good about the fish you’re putting into your home aquarium.
