Henrici Cornelii Agrippae
Opera (Collected Works)
1600 – Two Volumes
A substantial two-volume Latin edition of the collected works of Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim (1486–1535), printed in Lyon (Lugduni) in 1600 by the Beringos Brothers (Per Beringos Fratres).
Agrippa was a Renaissance scholar, physician, theologian, and philosopher whose writings influenced the development of Western , natural philosophy, and occult thought. His works remain important to the study of Renaissance intellectual history and hermetic traditions.
Bound in early vellum with manuscript spine titling, these volumes contain a wide range of Agrippa’s Latin writings, including philosophical, theological, and esoteric texts. Notable features include woodcut printer’s devices, period annotations, Hebrew text, symbolic diagrams, and Lullian wheels illustrating various philosophical systems discussed within the work.
The volumes also contain early handwritten bibliographic and scholarly annotations that appear to reference the edition itself, providing evidence of historical ownership and use by earlier readers and collectors.
More than four centuries old, this set offers a remarkable glimpse into the intellectual world of Renaissance Europe and stands as an important example of early seventeenth-century continental printing.
