🌼 Think Mums Are Just for Fall? Think Again! 🌼

Did you know some of the beautiful Belgian mums we carry can be planted in your garden early enough to give them a real chance to become perennial garden plants?

Many gardeners wait until late September or October to plant mums. By then, the plants are often putting all their energy into blooming and have very little time to establish a strong root system before winter.

That’s where early-blooming Belgian mums come in! 🌱

Our early varieties, including Fonti, Mika, and Adiva, give you a head start. Planting them while the soil is still warm allows the roots to establish before cold weather arrives. With proper planting and care, these mums have a much better opportunity to return next year—and for years to come!

🌿 Tips for helping mums become perennial:
• Plant them in the ground rather than leaving them in a container.
• Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil.
• Plant early enough for roots to establish before the ground freezes.
• Water consistently while they are getting established.
• After flowering, leave the stems and foliage in place through winter for added protection.
• Add a layer of mulch around (but not directly against) the plant after the ground begins to cool.
