🎄 A Handmade Christmas begins…

I’m so excited to share the very first project in Create a Handmade Christmas with Anabella’s — Season of Kindness. ❤️

This new collection has been on my heart because I want to spend this Christmas making more of the things that make a home feel special. Things we stitch. Things we sew. Things we make and bake. Little gifts we create for someone we love. Things that don’t have to be perfect to become part of our Christmas memories.

And Season of Kindness felt like the perfect place to begin.

I created this sweet primitive Christmas cutting board using the included printable artwork, a little stained cheesecloth, evergreen, berries, cinnamon sticks, homespun and a rusty bell.

The new 20-page printable project guide walks you through making your own from beginning to end — but I hope you’ll make it yours. Use an old cutting board you already have. Find one while thrifting. Change the greenery. Choose your favorite ribbon. Let yours look a little different from mine.

That’s the beauty of handmade. ❤️

EVOLVE OR DISSOLVE™

I’ve been thinking about the future of the cross-stitch industry—and I finally decided to say what I’ve been thinking out loud.

I LOVE this industry. I love the traditions, the people, the shops, the designers and, most of all, the stitchers who keep this craft alive.

But loving an industry doesn’t mean believing it should stay exactly the same forever.

The world has changed.
The way people shop has changed.
The way businesses market has changed.
The way customers discover products has changed.
And technology has changed.

We can preserve everything that makes cross stitch special without insisting that the business model surrounding it remain stuck in the past.

That’s the issue I wanted to address.

Not tradition vs. technology.

Not cross stitch vs. AI.

But what happens to a traditional industry when the world around it changes—and it refuses to change with it?

Because I believe there is an enormous difference between preserving a craft and preserving an old way of doing business.

I also address the environmental concerns surrounding AI, because those concerns deserve to be part of the conversation too.

This one may make some people uncomfortable.

That’s okay.

Sometimes the conversations worth having - do.
