3rd Chance Candles was started by my brother Joe after he was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors. For Joe, candle-making was not only a hobby that he really enjoyed but it also allowed him to give back to the community through donating a percentage of his sales to brain tumor research.Throughout his fight with cancer he maintained a positive attitude and hope for a cure not only for himself, bu
t also for others fighting this disease. But my family continues, and will forever continue, to support this ultra-important cause by fundraising as The Dean Team in the annual Race for Hope in Washington, DC. I have also decided to continue making Joe's candles and will donate 50% of all profits to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University where he received all of his treatment. In 2008, at age 27, I began my battle with brain tumors. The impact hit when I lost my first home and budding career in exchange for ongoing medical treatment. In an effort to give back to those who are in the fight with me to find a cure, I started 3rd Chance Candles. I am grateful for the three chances I've been given and will continue to look for ways to offer help and hope for a cure. Thank you for your support!
