🚜 Harvest Week Update 🌿

To give our cultivation team the time they need to harvest this year’s plants, we’ll be closing early at 7pm starting today through this Wednesday.

Harvest is one of the busiest and most important times of the year for us, and our team will be hard at work bringing in the crop that will become the products you know and love.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we focus on this important part of the growing process. Be sure to stop in earlier than usual if you plan to shop during these next few days!

🌱 Light Dep Is in Full Swing 🌱
(Long post / worth the read🫶🏼)

We’re already looking ahead to our first harvest of the season, and it’s hard not to get excited.

If you’ve ever wondered what light deprivation (light dep) is, it’s a cultivation technique where we carefully control the amount of light our plants receive each day. By simulating shorter days, we can encourage the plants to flower earlier, allowing us to harvest sooner while still taking advantage of the sun’s natural energy. It’s a labor-intensive process, but when done right, it produces incredible results.

The amount of love, dedication, and long days that go into cultivation can’t be overstated. Our cultivation team has been putting in the work from sunrise to well after sunset to make sure every plant gets the attention it deserves.

This marks Rock Quarry Farms’ second year cultivating legal cannabis in Chemung County. Last year, despite every challenge that came our way, we planted, harvested, cured, processed, and proudly brought Chemung County-grown legal cannabis to our community. Sustainably grown, right here at home.

This season, we’re excited to have Ethan leading our cultivation efforts. With years of experience in the cannabis industry and a unique growing style, he’s helped take our gardens to the next level. Thanks to his expertise and the hard work of the entire team, we’re already closing in on harvest and getting ready to bring you fresh, locally grown cannabis sooner than ever.

Today, we want to thank all of the stand-up, rockstar dads out there.

Personally, I know how much effort it takes to support and manage a family. Every day we see fathers from all walks of life giving everything they have to support their partners and children emotionally, physically, and financially. Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment never go unnoticed.

One of the best parts of what we do at Rocky River Remedies is getting to know our community. We love hearing your stories, learning about your families, and seeing firsthand the impact that great fathers have on the people around them.

We’re also fortunate to have some incredible fathers on our own team. In fact, every man on our team is a father. We see their hard work, their sacrifices, and the love they pour into their families every day. They give so much to their children and partners, and they bring that same dedication and work ethic to our microbusiness.

Yesterday was one for the history books.

People traveled from near and far, lining the tracks throughout our region to catch a glimpse of the legendary Big Boy No. 4014—the largest operating steam locomotive in the world. Originally, 25 Big Boy locomotives were built between 1941 and 1944 to haul freight through the Wasatch Mountains. Today, only eight remain, and No. 4014 is the only one still in operation, making every appearance a truly special event.

Here in Wellsburg, we've always had a unique connection to the railroad. Nestled along the Chemung River, our village grew alongside the rail lines that connected communities, moved goods, and helped build the Southern Tier into what it is today. For generations, the sounds of trains have echoed through our valley, becoming part of the rhythm of life in Wellsburg.

Yesterday those tracks brought people together once again.

One of the things we love most about Rocky River Remedies is the relationships we've built since opening our doors. What started as customers stopping in has turned into friendships, conversations, and a genuine sense of community. There is something incredibly rewarding about receiving photos, stories, and updates from all of you—whether it's your garden, your fishing trip, your family, or in this case, a once-in-a-lifetime train sighting.

A special thank you to Gary for sharing these incredible photos. Gary has been one of our biggest supporters from the beginning and quickly became a friend. He's always cheering us on, stopping in to say hello, and sharing moments like these with us. We are grateful for people like Gary and all of you who continue to support our small business.

Yesterday wasn't just about seeing a train. It was about history, community, and being reminded how lucky we are to call Wellsburg home.
