Here’s an update on my 30-pound State Fair bowl! I still need to clean up the handles and remove a few supports, but it should be ready for the kiln in about a week. Then it’s time to glaze!

This is the start of a 30 lb. bowl I’m making for the State Fair!

I’m really excited about this one. There’s something special about making a piece for the State Fair, and I’m hoping this big guy brings home a blue ribbon!

Now the important question… what would you put in a bowl this big?

Fun fact: Bowls are one of the oldest forms of pottery and thousands of years later, we’re still finding new ways to make them beautiful.

There’s something special about taking a simple lump of clay and turning it into something that can become part of someone’s everyday life. Every handmade bowl has its own little quirks, character, and story and that’s exactly what makes it perfect.
