We are kicking off our first “Local Author Corner” of the season with a book signing with Weslaco author, Angela Rosko!
This is a FREE event! We hope you’ll consider purchasing a copy of one of Angela’s books from our bookshop. Your support is vital to keeping us here and offering events like this!

Rest in stories, Dolly Parton 💛 Thank you for blessing so many children with books! 📖

RIP Dolly. Writer. Philanthropist. Businesswoman. Kindest around. Her Imagination Library has gifted over 300 million books, and that number grows by 2 million every month! The first book she started with? The Little Engine that Could.

And wrote “Jolene” or “I Will Always Love You” on the same day.

“The way, I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain!”

She will forever amaze me. RIP Dolly Parton

🦈 Since it was Shark Week, we hosted a shark-inspired storytime today!

We shared shark facts from the book Exploring Sharks by J i l l M c D o n a l d, one of our favorite author illustrators. Readers learned to draw their own shark, too!

📚 Join us every Saturday for Storytime at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each week features a new theme, a great book, and a fun activity. We’d love for you to join us soon!

Happy Birthday, Harry! ⚡ Our family celebrated with a cozy movie night featuring Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and a Hagrid-inspired birthday cake. 🎂✨

Also sharing a few memories from our Harry Potter and the Cursed Child midnight book release party 10 years ago. Time flies, but the magic never fades. 📚🪄

Join us this Saturday as we kick off Chapter 25 at The Storybook Garden!
We're celebrating the beginning of our 25th anniversary year, and our friends from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants will be joining us! Books, stories, and anniversary fun! 📖👩🏻‍🌾🪴

🪴Spend $20 or more at our bookshop and your child can paint their own pot to take home plus receive a special surprise for your outdoor garden from the plant bus! Grownups can join in on the fun, too!

🌱Our friends will also be teaching about the amazing loofah plant (which grows beautifully in our area), and offering fun, educational insights about native and garden-friendly plants.

🌱 It's a wonderful opportunity to get your hands dirty, learn something new, and celebrate with us. We can't wait to see you!
