🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department joins fire departments and communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

In front of our trucks are 10 sets of firefighter gear, arranged 3–4–3. That arrangement is intentional.

3 – 4 – 3

It represents the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

They answered the call that morning knowing people needed help. They climbed the stairs while thousands were coming down. They served with courage, duty, and sacrifice until the very end.

The empty gear is our small way of honoring the firefighters who never returned to their stations, their families, and their communities.

We also remember every innocent life lost that day, the first responders who answered the call, and all those whose lives were forever changed by the events of September 11.

343 firefighters.
One brotherhood.
Never forgotten.

Giant Trophy Lake Oahe Walleyes & On-the-Water Forward-Facing Sonar Tutorials

Join our experienced professional fishing guides on Lake Oahe and learn how to become a true walleye sniper. We’ll teach you how to locate, target, and boat some of the largest dinosaur walleyes in North America.

Our goal is to help you catch an 11- to 17+ pound world-class trophy walleye — and maybe even put a new state record in your sights.

Trips are available for 1 to 3 people per boat. All boats are new, very clean, deep-V fiberglass rigs equipped with top-of-the-line, up-to-date electronics and fishing equipment.

Your trip includes:

All meals, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, lodging, and transportation from lodging to the lake.

Optional bird hunting add-ons are also available, including sharptail grouse, greater prairie chickens, and pheasants. We rarely hunt and fish on the same day, so plan to spend some time with us.

This is a very limited opportunity for 2026, with only a few guides available as we prepare for expansion in 2027 and beyond.
