Would you accept a bridal bouquet order with less than three hours’ notice? 💐

On a Sunday afternoon, I received a call from a bride who needed a small bridal bouquet that same day. Her first choice was mostly white with touches of light peachy-orange—but with such short notice, I could only work with what was already available in my cooler.

We discussed the limitations, and I let her know I could create something in whites and soft pastel shades, with a little light peach included. It wasn’t her exact original vision, but I was happy to create something beautiful for her with what I had available.

Sometimes last-minute orders are possible—you just have to be flexible with the flowers and colors.

Florists: would you have accepted this order? Brides: would you order a last-minute bouquet knowing the flower selection would be limited?

When you’re halfway through loading the car and realize you didn’t take a single photo or video of the bridal bouquet 😅

So here she is—in all her slightly rushed, parking-lot-content glory. Too pretty not to document 🤍

Being a farmer-florist doesn’t mean every flower I use is grown in my own field—or even locally.

It means I can thoughtfully combine flowers from my garden, other Michigan growers and trusted wholesalers to create the best possible design for each couple.

This bouquet included locally grown dahlias, feverfew and lisianthus alongside imported roses, spray roses, ranunculus and delphinium.

Local and conventionally sourced flowers don’t have to compete. Used together, they give you the beauty, variety and consistency needed to bring an entire floral vision to life. 🤍

Wedding florist storytime: what happens when there aren’t enough centerpieces?

We arrived to set up this wedding and realized we were short on the number of centerpieces needed for the tables.

Thankfully, I ALWAYS bring extra flowers to a wedding.

Not entire extra centerpieces — because ordering, processing and transporting enough flowers to make several additional arrangements “just in case” would get expensive very quickly — but I do bring extra stems for broken flowers, last-minute fixes and little emergencies.

So we got creative.

We combined the bridesmaids’ bouquets with the extra stems I had brought and were able to make everything work.

Would I have preferred to know ahead of time? Absolutely. 😂 But part of being an experienced wedding florist is being able to problem-solve when something unexpected happens.

And THAT is one of the things you’re paying for when you hire a professional florist.

POV: you get married in August

Dahlias, roses, garden roses, spray roses, lisianthus, delphinium, stock, feverfew AND ranunculus.

August really said you can have all the beautiful flowers.
