I’ll be playing at Play Music on the Porch Day – Play for Peace this Saturday at Claws and Paws Rescue!

I’m especially excited because my student Ed and I have been working on a Dolly Parton song that we’ll be performing together. Taking what we work on in lessons and bringing it out into the community is what it’s all about.

Live music runs noon–5 PM, plus Pardon my French food truck . Come listen, grab some food, and support a great local rescue!

And if Ed inspires you to pick up an instrument yourself, you know where to find us at Northbound Sound.

Apparently Northbound Sound now offers guitar pickup and delivery service.*

Michael needed some fresh strings on his carbon fiber acoustic, so I got to play delivery boy again—picked it up, got it restrung and ready to work, and dropped it back off.

Some musicians are just very high maintenance.

In Michael's defense, he actually puts his instruments to work. You can catch him playing **Saturday from 7–10 PM at Sand Lake Micro Brewery**—go support a great local musician!

And for the rest of you working musicians: if your guitar is how you make money, don't wait until something goes wrong five minutes before a gig. Northbound Sound can help with **restrings, setups, adjustments, repairs, and routine maintenance** to keep your instruments gig-ready.

*Pickup and delivery privileges may depend heavily on how much I like you.

Start ’em young.

Josie has been practicing drums herself, and here she is helping her little sister Juniper get an early start.

There’s something valuable about learning in a culture where music gets passed along. When students have opportunities to show someone else what they know, it reinforces their own learning, builds confidence, and reminds them that making music isn’t just an individual activity.

Looks like Juniper has a pretty good teacher to get her started.

Savannah stopped into Northbound Sound to have us take a look at her flute, and Amber was able to help with a small adjustment and get her back on the right track.

Savannah recently moved to the area and comes from a family of music educators. She's picking the flute back up as a way to reconnect with her musical roots while becoming part of her new community. We're glad to have her!

Amber was the perfect person to help—she's a first-chair flutist, teaches flute at NBS, and plans to pursue music education after high school.

With band season here, remember we're here for **B&O lessons, rentals, supplies, cleaning, adjustments, repairs, and more.** Amber also currently has openings for flute lessons!

Ukuleles! We just received an order of Mahalo ukuleles. at only $49.99 each, they make for an affordable and fun instrument for a beginner who is looking to jump into learning something new.

Starting September 11th, we're hosting our first ever Group Ukulele 101 class! Great for beginners and open to all ages. For more information on the class, simply send us a message or drop a comment.

🎉 Student Spotlight – Happy Birthday, Liam! 🎸

Liam stopped by for his lesson today... on his birthday! Now that's dedication.

He's the kind of student every teacher hopes for. He practices consistently, isn't afraid to challenge himself, and has developed a love for everything from Elvis and The Beatles to rock and the blues. On top of that, he's learning multiple instruments and continues to make great progress every week.
Watching students grow through hard work is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, and Liam is a great example of what steady practice can accomplish.

Happy Birthday, Liam! Keep up the great work—we're excited to see where your musical journey takes you.

I caught Brandon from The Bee Property Services in the middle of actually working today... so naturally I interrupted him for a conversation. 😄
