Ever wonder what’s going on up top of a 20x20 high peak frame tent?

This is the peak and cross cable. It’s a small part of the setup, but it plays a big role in giving the tent that high peak look and keeping the frame tied together.

You don’t really notice the hardware when everything is set up. That’s kind of the point.

“How many people can fit under a 20x20 frame tent?”

Here’s your answer.

A 20x20 can comfortably seat around 32–40 people, depending on how you set it up and what tables you’re using.

This little 5x8 trailer has done A LOT for us.

When we bought it, it was a relatively small investment that allowed us to nearly double the amount of inventory we could move at one time.

For a small party rental company, that made a huge difference.

More chairs. More tables. More tents. More orders going out the door.

But now we’re running into a good problem…

We’re outgrowing it.

As the business continues to grow, we’re taking on more and bigger orders, and that means we need more room to move everything efficiently.

So the 5x8 has earned its keep. It helped us get to the next level.

Now it’s time for the next step.

A bigger trailer is coming.

One piece of equipment at a time. One order at a time. Keep growing.

People see the tent.

They see the tables. They see the chairs. They see the equipment showing up in the driveway.

What they don’t always see are the expenses behind the business.

Payroll.
Insurance.
Office software.
Accounting.
Scheduling systems.
Payment processing.
Advertising.
Fuel.
Storage.
Maintenance.

Some of our biggest expenses have absolutely nothing to do with the equipment sitting in your backyard.

And that’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned running a small business.

You don’t just have to make money.

You have to make enough to cover everything it takes to keep the business running.

That’s why when you support a local business, you’re supporting a whole lot more than the product you’re renting.

You’re helping keep the employees paid, the insurance active, the software running and the trucks moving.

Small business is a lot more expensive to run than people realize.

And I’m learning something new about it every week.

Someone asked me recently if the party rental business is worth it.

My honest answer?

It’s hot. It’s cold. It’s windy. It’s raining. The days can be long, and most weekends aren’t really weekends.

There’s a lot of loading, unloading, driving, setting up, breaking down and cleaning.

It’s hard work.

But seeing everything come together and knowing you helped make someone’s event happen makes it worth it.

Would I recommend it to everyone? Probably not.

But for the right person who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty and putting in the work, yeah, it’s worth it.

That’s the party rental business.
