X Baits My son 11yo son, Xander, has fell in love with fishing. Xander is wanting to follow in his footsteps and get into the world of making/selling baits.

Xander's grandpa, Bruce West, has his own company, Jig Shack Tungsten Weights and Custom Painted Crankbaits, in Alabama. Xander spent the entire weekend with Bruce at his booth at the Southern Il Boat & Fishing Show last month. Xander began tying random things he'd find around the house on the jig heads, until we bought him a cheap vice in September 2023. In January he upgraded to a Peak vise. This page was created for Xander to show off his tying skills as they improve and attempt to sell them to support his hobby. This venture of his will also be used to teach him small business skills, communication, networking, accountability, and most importantly confidence in himself.

Xander had his first event. It wasn’t a fishing event, but gave him the opportunity to set up a booth and sell some of his jigs he tied. For him being shy, this was a good step for him to try and talk to people he don’t know. He’s still got some work to do, but it is what it is. Thank you to everyone that came out and supported his venture.
