Congrats to the new owner of this Absolute Batman 1 Noir Edition CGC 9.8. 🔥

I’ve said it before, but the Noir Editions might be the most stunning books in the entire Absolute Batman run to me.

Probably the artist in me. 😂 There’s just something about seeing Nick Dragotta’s work stripped down to the pencils, inks, linework and contrast that I absolutely love.

I’ve also got a couple of the oversized art board / WIP editions of Absolute Batman 1 that scratch that same itch. The raw artwork on this series is just ridiculous.

Anyway, congrats to the new owner. This one went QUICK.

I’m thinking at least one or two of these are probably headed to auction soon…

BUT - before I list them, if anybody’s been looking to secure a 9.8 directly, shoot me a DM.

I’m VERY bullish on Something Is Killing the Children issue 1. 👀📈

The first-print CGC 9.8 has been holding around $900 - and I don’t think we’ve seen anything close to this book’s ceiling yet.

Blumhouse is developing both a live-action movie and an adult animated series. But we haven’t even reached the really big moments:

The first trailers.

Casting announcements.

Our first look at Erica Slaughter.

Mainstream audiences discovering this world for the first time.

If those adaptations are rolled out properly - and especially if the live-action movie is actually GOOD - I’m aggressively predicting that this book could eventually approach $2,000 to $2,500 in a CGC 9.8.

Obviously, comic values are never guaranteed. But Blumhouse knows horror, SIKTC already has a massive fan base and issue 1 is the book everybody will want if this property reaches another level.

Am I onto something - or am I completely wilding with that $2,500 prediction? 😂

Some comics aren’t for flipping. They’re for KEEPING. 📚

When we started talking about books we would never sell, School of Rejecks TM immediately thought about HAHA and Ice Cream Man.

His copies may not be worth some crazy amount of money right now - but that’s not why they matter to him.

He loves these stories. He enjoys looking at the books. And he already knows he’ll want to go back and read them over and over again.

That’s what collecting is really about.

The market might tell you what a comic is worth - but it can’t tell you how much that comic means to YOU.

What’s one book in your collection you’d never sell, regardless of its value? 👀

I’m late to Do a Powerbomb - but DAMN, this book is good. 🔥

This was my first time reading Daniel Warren Johnson Eisner Award-winning story through the new Black & White edition, and I absolutely loved it.

A legendary wrestler dies in the ring. Her daughter, Lona Steelrose, dreams of following in her footsteps and honoring her name—but that journey eventually leads her toward a dangerous wrestling tournament with life-and-death stakes.

And the twist at the end?! Yeah, I’m ALL the way in. 😂

Daniel Warren Johnson’s artwork also looks incredible in black and white. Seeing all that raw linework without color gives the story a completely different energy.

I know a lot of y’all have already experienced this story, but it’s brand new to me and I can’t wait to continue the ride.

What’s on my pull list this week? 📚

Pretty tight NCBD lineup, but I’m looking forward to basically all of these.

Absolute Catwoman 3
Absolute Wonder Woman 23
Co**se Knight 5
Fall of the House of Slaughter 4
Final Boss 9

Co**se Knight 5 is probably the one I’m MOST excited for this week.

And then two books that weren’t originally on my pull list definitely caught my eye:

Batman: Bad Seeds — Sunset 1
Tomb of Apocalypse 1

So now the real question…

What am I missing? 👀

What dropped this week that I need to make sure ends up in the bag?

Funny how a random comic shop stop can turn you into a fan. 😂📚

When I visited Revenge of in L.A. for the first time, I had no idea Iman Vellani was going to be there signing Chachu 1.

I wasn’t even planning on buying the book, but obviously I grabbed a copy, got it signed, got to meet Iman — and then actually read it and really enjoyed it.

So when I spotted this Mike Del Mundo Cover E virgin variant at Samurai Comics in Phoenix… yeah, it was coming home with me. 😂🔥

I’m officially bullish on Chachu. Really curious to see where Iman Vellani, Marianna Ignazzi and Jordie Bellaire take this story.

And sidenote: Revenge Of is one of the dopest comic shops I’ve visited. Great books, pinball, decor, vibe… all of it.

Anybody else reading Chachu?
