PIANO RESTORATION, REPAIR, SALES, MOVING & RENTALS

We have been known for meticulous craftsmanship and innovative technology in the piano industry since 1981. This reputation has awarded us the honor of becoming the exclusive retail outlet in Connecticut for the new line of Ritmüller upright and grand pianos. We cater to the needs of musical connoisseurs of every age and income bracket — the owner of vintage Steinways, Chickering, Mason & Hamlin, or Baldwin; the professional performer, composer or teacher; and the budding piano student. Shawn is a master craftsman and it shows in every detail of the work that is undertaken. Take a look at some of our piano restorations at http://shawnspiano.com/piano-restorations-connecticut.php

"Working with Shawn is as close as you can come in this day and age to working with a Renaissance master craftsman. Nobody knows more, or cares more, about pianos. My A-1 came back to me sounding and looking better than it did on the day it left the Steinway factory more than a century ago. It was a magical ride." "Shawn's not a merchandiser...he won't sell an instrument unless he's sold on it himself. The 7' sounds like a concert grand; the action on the upright is as responsive as any I've tuned, and they have a clean, clear upper register. These are wonderfully stable pianos-they really hold a tune--and then having Shawn and his staff behind them---it's an awesome combination."

1914 Mason & Hamlin model BB
Aka 7’ from the original Boston factory... this I consider to be one of the best Pianos ever made in the world. Original Boston maker made small amounts of these wonderfully handmade instruments ... never to be made again ...
I don’t care what anyone says if this could be restored properly there is no replacement and we restored it properly. It’s an amazing instrument. We did this restoration for Family about 15 years ago and due to logistics fortunately I was able to buy it back. We put special magic on it to prepare for our showroom. If you were a Piano Lover and wanted one of the best Piano/ Pianos ever made, it would have to be a New York Steinway of the right vintage with the right Restoration and a vintage Mason & Hamlin like this ... as a Piano restorer the last 50 years of my life. What’s important to me?
The castings ... also known as the piano plate Steinway had their own foundry.... and the original Boston M&H also with special castings... when we restore Piano on a complete throughout sense what we have left to work with is the casting and the rim... and the materials in both of these are so special and not able to be reproduce today, if are fortunate enough to work intimately with it to really understand and to see it, and to feel it!!!
