Honoring Strength: A Special Tribute for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, honor survivors, support those currently facing breast cancer, and remember the loved ones we have lost.
Cancer touches nearly all of us in some way. It may be a family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, or someone within our wider community. Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story—and a reminder of just how important compassion, strength, and support can be.
At Grand Brass Lamp Parts, we spend every day working with the small components and details that help bring lighting projects together. This October, we wanted to use what we do to create something with a little more meaning.
A Small Detail with a Powerful Symbol
To recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we created a special 1-1/2-inch round brass finial, precision-laser-engraved with the cancer awareness ribbon.
The ribbon is a simple symbol, but one that carries tremendous meaning. It can represent awareness, support, remembrance, hope, and the strength of the countless people whose lives have been affected by cancer.
Why a Finial?
A finial is traditionally the finishing touch on a lamp—the small decorative detail placed at the top that completes the piece. It may be only one component, but it can give a lamp its final bit of character and personality.
That made a finial feel like a fitting place for the awareness ribbon.
Used on a lamp in your home, office, workshop, or another special space, the engraved ribbon can serve as a subtle reminder of someone important to you or simply as a way to show your support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A Tribute to Strength, Hope, and Remembrance
For some, the ribbon represents a survivor. For others, it represents someone still fighting. And for many, it honors the memory of someone who is deeply missed.
Whatever meaning the ribbon holds for you, we hope this small piece can become part of something meaningful.
This October, we join people everywhere in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month and honoring the strength of those affected by breast cancer—the survivors, the fighters, their families and friends, the caregivers who stand beside them, and those whose memories continue to inspire us.
Sometimes even the smallest details can carry the greatest meaning.
