Well Fred and family had a big weekend on the books and we all made it through in one piece! She even stopped by the shop with her friend Astrid to say hi to her dad before her Homecoming dance!! She cleans up pretty well when she isn’t counting worms!

September Tournament in the books!!
Kail Poole and Caleb Goldsmith won total weight with 20lbs 9oz with a big flathead of 5lbs 11oz and an 8lb 1oz channel.
Terry and Heather Whited tied on the big channel with an 8lb 1oz channel of their own!
We will come up with an October date soon. Hopefully the weather can hold out for some decent fishing at the end of the season.

Tonight’s the night!!! Registration starts at 5pm til 7pm. Weigh in is at 6am!! It’s gonna be a great night for fishing!! Let’s have a great turnout!!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS — THE 2026 FALL TROUT DERBY IS COMING!

The New Philadelphia Fall Trout Derby will be held Saturday, October 31, from 8:00 AM until Noon at Tuscora Park!

WE’RE GOING BIG AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Hooked on Trout Farm (Trout Tales) will be delivering 2,000 POUNDS OF TROUT, with fish ranging from 1.5 pounds to more than 10 pounds apiece!

And once again, catching a fish could lead to an adventure these kids will never forget!

GRAND PRIZE FISHING TRIPS:

Two grand-prize winners will head to Michigan to chase salmon or steelhead with:
• Capt. Anthony Rodriguez — Big River Outfitters
• Capt. Chad Schuab — Schaub Outfitters

Another family will head to Lake Erie to chase walleye with Beck's Charters!

And once again, Capt. Frank Smith with Dusk Till Dawn Charters will take another family in pursuit of monster shovelhead catfish!

There’s ALOT going on at Fred’s!! We are stocked up on goldfish and minnows in the tanks, there are nightcrawlers, wax worms, and liver in the bait fridge out front, our September catfish tournament (got your partner yet???) is 2 weeks away, and we are fully stocked back up on fabulous Whisker Seeker Tackle!! Fred’s dad will be in the shop about all weekend so stop by and say hi!

August tournament is in the books!!
Total weight and big flathead went to Matt Kauffman and Rich Westhafer with a total weight of 54lbs 6oz and the big flat was 38lbs 10oz!!
Big channel went to Terry and Heather Whited with a 9lb 1oz channel!!
Zach and Cole Hoffman were second in total weight.
Nice fish everybody!! We will see you all again in September!!!
