Nirvana took the top spot in AMG submissions this past month, with 36% more graded albums than the previous month. 💿

But some of the biggest jumps came further down the list. The Beatles saw 5X the submissions, The Rolling Stones 10X, Madonna 4X, Pink Floyd 7X and Britney Spears 6X compared to July.

Meanwhile, Led Zeppelin and Wu-Tang Clan were 🔥 enough to break into the Top 10.

From classic rock and hip hop to pop, the albums collectors are choosing to preserve keep getting more interesting.

CDs were supposed to disappear. Instead, they’re having one of their biggest moments in years 💿

17.5 million CDs were sold in the U.S. during the first half of 2026, a nearly 46% jump from the same period last year.

A generation raised on streaming is increasingly interested in physical media, from vinyl and CDs to cameras and other retro tech.

There’s something different about actually owning the things you love instead of accessing everything through a screen.

For music collectors, that means digging for first pressings, limited editions, signed copies and forgotten releases is becoming relevant all over again.

Coco Gauff has always been open about the role music plays in her life and a trip to the record store gave a little more insight into what she actually listens to.

While digging through vinyl, Gauff pulled out Lorde and explained why her music has always resonated with her, connecting with the honesty and emotion behind the songs.

It’s a cool reminder that even one of the biggest stars in tennis can have the same relationship with a record as any other fan by finding an artist who somehow puts what you’re feeling into words.

This record came together almost by accident and captured a major turning point in John Lennon’s career.

In September 1969, while Lennon was still officially a Beatle, he was invited to perform at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival. There was just one problem: he didn’t have a band.

The Plastic Ono Band was quickly assembled with Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann and Alan White. They rehearsed largely on the flight to Toronto before taking the stage and performing everything from early rock ’n’ roll covers to the first public performance of “Cold Turkey.”

The show was recorded and released just three months later as Live Peace in Toronto 1969, the first LP credited to the Plastic Ono Band.

Which makes this footage even cooler: Lennon casually dropping the needle on a record that captured the beginning of his transition from the Beatles into the next chapter of his career 💿
