Had a lot of fun with this one!

Found some really great automotive fabric to recreate the look behind the roe deer skull, art deco tacks secured the fabric well to my 3/4 plywood base behind the frame.

Gilding wax is a new favorite! Highly recommend! 5⭐️'s It put the perfect finishes on the frame and I mixed it with antiquing wax and black to create a dirty bronze for the skull. I just couldn't bring myself to bronze the antlers, I thought they looked great natural.

He'll make a perfect addition in my gallery decor!!

Transformation Tuesday ❗❗

1929-1948 period piece from the prestigious furniture giant Berkey & Gay Furniture Co, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Sadly this piece had not been loved or well taken care of, but none the less, it caught my eye and I rescued it from an antique store for $40.

I've really enjoyed learning about the history of the piece from the Berkey Company and also about the Keeler Brass Company who made the original pulls, and is also still in business after being founded in 1893.

I added a center stabilization rail back and fixed the top where the mirror had been taken off, polished up the original pulls and added more ornate mouldings. I could not part with the original center floral artwork, so I carefully handsanded off the grime to reveal a more vibrant painted bouquet.

This project was exactly what I wanted for a nail table and I couldn't be any happier about it! I can't wait to have in person nail bars so I can pamper and share the piece's history with all my VIPs!
